Walking may be the very essence of travel, the heartbeat that animates our journey. ‘Art’ is orchestrated by GIAF, while ‘Baugil’ is conceived by Gangneung Baugil Foundation. In collaboration with Gangneung Baugil Foundation, GIAF strives to amplify the experience of engaging with art by intertwining it with the act of walking. Visitors are encouraged to engage all their senses while journeying through the Festival’s venues. Each week, caretakers of the Baugil sections stand in duty for the Art Baugil routes. In GIAF23, the Art Baugil commenced its journey from Gangneung Station, leading to Baugil walking section 14, ‘Chohee-gil’ that guided participants toward the Gangneung Museum of Art. Progressing through Dongbu Market, the route proceeded to section 6, ‘The way to Gulsansa Temple.’ The final leg of the route spanned approximately 6.2 kilometers, reaching Wolhwa Street, Wolhwajeong, and the Noam Tunnel before culminating at the Sinyeong Theater.
